Excellence in Real Estate Since 1965.

On February 12, 2015, Lincoln Property Company celebrated its 50th anniversary. Founded on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday in 1965, Lincoln Property Company (LPC) got its start building luxury apartment complexes in and around Dallas, Texas. Half a century later, LPC spans two continents as a globally recognized and respected multidisciplinary real estate service firm with a presence in 200 U.S. cities, 10 European cities and Mexico.

By the early 1970s, only a few short years after its founding, Lincoln Property Company was experiencing substantial growth and began diversifying its product line to include not just residential but also office, retail and industrial properties. Over the decades LPC has expanded its commercial property services to include property and facilities management, build-to-suit construction consulting, development, acquisitions, leasing and brokerage. As one of the largest real estate services firms in the U.S., LPC has overseen $7.6 billion in office and industrial acquisition and has over 356 million square feet of leased or managed property. Despite the real estate bust of the 1980s, and largely through a smart combination of diversification, flexibility and strategic financial restructuring, Lincoln Property Company ended the turbulent decade as one of the ten most active developers in the U.S. With the 1990s came a renewal of growth and expansion as Lincoln Property Company opened its first European office, and in 1997 the firm partnered with AIG Real Estate Investment Corp in order to acquire, manage and develop commercial and residential real estate through Europe as AIG/Lincoln International L.L.C. The turn of the new millennium saw AIG/Lincoln capitalizing on emerging opportunities in Eastern Europe by establishing offices in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic.

As part of Lincoln Property Company’s commitment to serve our men and women in uniform, and their families, the firm partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense to renovate, rehabilitate and redevelop family housing at select bases for the Navy, Marine Corps and Army. Today, LPC is one of the largest operators of military housing in the country. 2015 also marks Lincoln Property Company’s 30th year in the greater D.C. area. LPC opened its first office in the nation’s capital in 1985, with offices in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. LPC currently leases or manages nearly 30 million square feet of building space with approximately 3 million square feet attributed to the federal government, and continues to provide  a comprehensive suite of real estate services to their clients. Lincoln Property Company’s Washington, D.C., office at 101 Constitution Avenue NW serves as the firm’s headquarters for LPC’s Mid-Atlantic Region—including the D.C. Metro Area, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Southern New Jersey. Over the past five decades, Lincoln Property Company helped define quality and excellence in real estate management for the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. What started in 1965 with the construction of apartment complexes in Dallas has grown into the second largest property management company in the U.S., with 750 managed properties and 145,000 multi-family units, and a full suite of commercial real estate services. With 50+ years of innovation behind them, Lincoln Property Company looks forward to 50 more.
